“The house is incredible, warm, comfy and spacious. The surrounds are breath-taking, quiet and awe-inspiring. There's nothing to not like about the place. I'd rather say I hated it and no one visits and we can keep it for ourselves but it's too good not to share. The house is well equipped with everything and anything you could ask for. It was an unbelievable stay at the cottage and we will most definitely be back.”

"Ratcliff Cottage was a real highlight of our trip to Kangaroo Island. The setting is stunning and so peaceful by the lagoon. Visiting kangaroos, pelicans, cormorants, pacific gulls and oyster catchers were regulars with the occasional dolphin going by too. The beds are very comfortable, towels big and fluffy and the kitchen extremely well equipped for home cooking which you will really want to do because you never want to leave. The house has real character and warmth. We really want to come back."

"Absolutely stunning place. Everything had been thought of and provided for guests, down to a lovely local bottle of wine in the fridge! The woodburner in the living room was fantastic - but the reverse cycle was great for those chilly mornings and a quick warm-up. We were blown away by the attention to detail by the hosts with the instructions, and everything provided. The location was terrific on the lagoon, with small hills on either side of the house for lovely sunrise views, with plenty of birds, kangaroos, and even dolphins out the front one morning."

“Ratcliff cottage is amazing, peaceful and relaxing. Spent a week with my wife and two children. We truly felt like we were the only people on the planet while chilling out and relaxing on the verandah watching the world go by. The view out over the water with the fig trees and kangaroos is so breathtaking it will stay with us forever. We were able to see dozens of kangaroos each day grazing on the property as well as dolphins, swans and other wildlife. I would highly recommend staying at the property and was a perfect place to base our KI journey around. The property is also perfect for children and very safe. If peaceful is what your after look no further.”

“Ratcliff Cottage was perfect in every way for our 4 night stay on KI. Location and cottage were more beautiful than we had expected. Roos in the garden every evening. Perfectly positioned to explore the island and get to both Kingscote and Penneshaw without issue for dining, shops etc. Communication about check in and info about property was excellent. Hosts were extra hospitable making sure we had what we needed to travel with our baby son (travel cot, blankets, highchair). We spent the whole stay talking about how much we are looking forward to staying again in the future for our next trip to KI.”

“What a gem Ratcliff Cottage is! We wished we’d had longer at this lovely home. Biggest and most majestic Morton Bay Fig, worth a climb and a swing. Nightly dolphins and Kangaroos galore. Such a great spot, away from it all but only 15mins from Penneshaw. We’ll be back, and SOON!”

“We have been fortunate to stay in the very comfortable Ratcliff Cottage, ,although it does have 4 bedrooms, hardly a cottage. It is close enough to the action to have a very busy time, I.e. Beaches, markets, winery’s, and/or peaceful enough to do absolutely nothing. We sailed the boat to American River to catch crabs and listened to the porpoises plopping in the lagoon and the fresh oysters we bought from American River were to die for.. Just a beautiful place for a real holiday.”

"This cottage is absolutely fantastic! Beautiful view over the pelican lagoon with two 100 years old fig trees. Lots of kangaroos near the verandah. "We had the most memorable Christmas at Ratcliff Cottage, complete with backdrop of a dozen or so 'resident' kangaroos. The cottage is truly an oasis - charming, peaceful, a perfect 'get away'. We were pleased that the cottage's style meant that it stayed cool through the hot weather. It was extremely well equipped, and definitely felt like a home from home.
